This past weekend, we transitioned Pierce to his new room and a "big boy bed." He has done beautifully! I had been hyping it up for a long time and of course, by Friday night, Pierce made the change as if it was no big deal at all. Although pretty type A (I'd guess) and particular about a lot of things, he can be quite flexible. I appreciate that quality!
His new room is not nearly complete, yet, but I at least had the bed done up and the drawers and closet (mostly) empty, so we figured we'd go for it. There really wasn't a huge rush, but we want him to have enough time to get used to the new set-up before the baby is born. Additonally, we have several trips planned this summer and it would be much easier for him to sleep in a regular bed instead of the pack-n-play (which I think is way too small for him now anyway).
The first night, he fell out of the bed around 5:30 on Saturday morning. Shaun heard it first and ran to his rescue (and I mean ran!). He easily fell right back to sleep until 8:00. His naps over the weekend were almost non-existent (even though he was clearly wiped out!), but he has napped like a champ all week so far. We have no toys in his room and he knows not to get out of the bed until we come and get him.
