... perfectly healthy baby!!! We had our mid-point ultrasound yesterday afternoon and everything looks great. This is such an answer to our prayers and we are praising the Lord for this gift!
The baby was being quite stubborn yesterday as s/he was very comfortable in his/her position, which was face down towards my spine. I got up and moved around at least 4 different times in order to try and wake him/her up and encourage him/her to change positions so the sonographer could see the face a little better. It did not work, however. I think she was able to see what she needed to, but the baby wasn't in the most ideal position. Because of this, the pictures we got are not that great as we couldn't really see a profile or the baby's face at all.
Some stats from yesterday: the baby's heartrate was 137 bpm and s/he weighs around 14 ounces right now. The tech said she knew what the gender is, but we are waiting to be surprised at the birth!
I have started looking through our baby name book to make some lists of names. This was a long process for us with Pierce and I'm sure it'll be the same this time around. Shaun and I are both picky about names and want to have equal input in the choosing of our child's name. Once we've narrowed it down, it will remain a surprise to you all until the birth as well. That's how we roll! But don't worry, it's really not that far off at this point. I'm 22 weeks, so we've got less than 18 weeks to go. It'll go by fast, I know!
I am feeling really great these days. The second trimester really is the peak of the pregnancy. I've got my energy and appetite back, am feeling the baby move regularly and have definitely popped as you can see from the pictures below.
I've been working in our guest bedroom to get it cleaned out and ready for Pierce to move in. He'll be transitioning to a big bed soon and we're excited about that! Once he's out of the nursery, I'll get to work preparing for this baby to move in. I'll be sure to share pictures and stories as we make all these changes.

Glad to hear everything looks great. I hope the stubbornness shown today is not an indication of what is to come for you with baby #2. :)
I think it is another boy. Any chance you can email the U/S pics so we can see them a bit bigger. The blog won't let me enlarge them.
